"No, Paula!" Cindy shouted. "Don't play there! It's dangerous!"

"What?" Paula asked, stopping short of the slide's steps. It seemed she couldn't quite hear them. Minda started running toward the young girl, worried about what danger the playground could present.

"Make sure she doesn't play on the...JESS!" Cindy said as she saw Jess make a run for the swingset.
"Minda! Stop her!"

Minda rushed to stop her friend, but with her fat form compared to Jess's more athletic body she couldn't get to her friend fast enough. Jess grabbed the chain of the swing and sat down in the seat. "Jess!" Minda yelled in a panic.

In a flash of light and with a loud audible pop sound, Jess changed before their eyes. When the light vanished, Jess was now no older than four years old.
"Oh no." Cindy said.
The sky started to turn grey and the ground began to rumble.

Still sucking on the pacifier and seeming oblivious to her changes Jess started kicking her legs to get the swing going. "Cindy grab Paula and keep her close." Minda said as she tried to walk across the rumbling ground to grab Jess.

Before she reached it, a voice echoed loudly over the whole area.
"WHO IS PLAYING ON MY THINGS?!"
"Well so much for stealth." Cindy said.

Being a bit startled by the loud voice Jess started to cry. Minda looked up, trying to find the source of the voice. Paula clung to Cindy's leg, afraid of the echoing voice.

"Gertie, we are not of your world." Cindy said. "We have come to retrieve that which does not belong to you."
A loud crack could be heard and a young girl, about six years old, stood before them, hair in pigtails, wearing a summer sun dress.
"Oh have you? Cute!" she giggled. It was a terrifying sound.

Minda quickly picked Jess up and tried calming her down. Looking over at the young girl she thought the girl was harmless...until she heard her speak. "Give us back Jess & Paula's parents and we'll be on our way." She said, her voice a bit shaky.

"Oh, you think you can boss me around, do you?" She asked. She then put her finger to her lips, trying to think.
"Aha! I know!" she said as she snapped her fingers and Minda and Jess vanished. "You next, witch." she said to Cindy, who held Paula tightly.
"This won't do you any favors, Gert..." she said, but was cut off by the two of them vanishing as well. Sent to someplace in Gertie's world, seperate from Jess and Minda.

Minda looked around, a bit panicked when she noticed everyone had vanished. Slowly it dawned on her that she and Jess had been sent else where. This only caused Jess to cry more as she didn't know where she was. "Ssshhh...It's okay Jessie. I'll protect you." Minda said, looking around at her surroundings.

It seemed they were standing next to a castle of sorts, and she noticed it was made of ginger bread and frosting and candy.
"Hi there!" came a friendly voice. It was a gingerbread woman. "Welcome!"

"Uh...Hi." Minda said, taking a step back from the gingerbread woman. "Any chance you could tell us how to get to Gertie's room?" She asked as Jess had finally calmed down.

"Oh, you don't want to go there." the woman said. "She doesn't like people going there. Do nasty things to you if she found you, she would. I know, I wasn't always a cutie cookie."
