"If you'd like to. Anything in particular you are looking for?" he said.

"Hmmm...good question. How about something a little more light-hearted?"

"How so?" asked the smiling TV man.

"Hmm...I'm not sure. Maybe someplace where a guy who's compressed to a head and socked feet would be appreciated? Maybe with someone who wants to study me?"

The man smiles and presses a button on the remote with his toes, and suddenly the room goes white again.

I tap my socked feet in anticipation, eager to see where I wind up next.

"Hello there, my little friend" said a voice as the room faded into view. "How are you today" said a friendly looking girl wearing a labcoat.

As my vision clears, I realize I'm standing on a desk, surrounded by all kinds of bizarre-looking scientific equipment.
I smile at the girl, and wiggle my sock toes happily. "I'm doing great, thanks! How are you?"

"Oh, I'm good" she smiled. "Now then...let's see if we can figure out what exactly caused you to become this way"

My feet tap and rub together. "Ready when you are, Doc!"
Of course, I'm quite aware of how I wound up like this, but I'm curious to hear what she has to say about my condition.

"It's interesting. This rash of transformations. It's like a virus, that somehow compacts the body. It's odd that you are the only one in the area who got it, though...: she noted.

I rub my feet together in an embarrassed fashion. "Heh...just lucky I guess. But for what it's worth, I feel fine."

"It's worth a lot. if you were sick or something, this would be a whole different ball game" she smiled as she took some readings, like temperature, and an attempt at blood pressure (which is hard when you hardly have limbs)
"There, healthy as a horse" She said. "You know, I must say, I envy you compacted folk...." she mentioned as she put her reading tools down.

I watch her take a seat. "You do? How come? I mean, I know I like it, but what do you envy about it?"

"Well, most of the victims of the compacting seem to be quite care-free in their new forms, like yourself, for example. That's a quality to life I have yet to experience. I have lots of things to care and focus on. Sometimes I fantasize about becoming a Compacted Human, and never having another care, you know...Well of course you do, you are one" she said.
"I'm sorry. I don't mean to ramble"
