"Dammit." Angela Marino muttered under her breath as she tried to start her car again. No luck. Her three kids, ages eight, ten, and 15, were making a loud racket in the back seats. Angela looked out the window, deafeated, when she saw a mansion. Maybe they'll let me use their phone to call a tow truck. She thought hopefully.
"Mia, Isbella, Antonio, come on." She got out of her car and walked up to the mansion's front door, he children fighting with each other the whole way.

Thunder crashed in the sky...and lighting flashed in the distance as they approached the door. There on the front was an ornate knocker made of brass.

Mia whined a little, complaining that the thunder was scaring her. Angela, and the older children ignored her, and the fight escalated. Angela was momentarily and oddly mesmerized by the ornate knocker, but shook her head and used it.

The sound echoed through the grounds, and suddenly the door lurched open.
There in the dim light of the lobby stood a man. He looked old, and he smiled kindly.
"Good evening."

Angela looked at the man. He kind of reminded her of her grandfather, who had passed away when she was a child. She smiled as much as she could hearing the sounds of her bickering children behind her. "Hello, uhm, our car broke down out front and I was wondering if I could use you phone to call a two truck."

"Come in. I don't want you four catching a cold on my doorstep!" he said kindly as he ushered you all into the grand lobby of what appeared to be a giant mansion.

Angela, followed by Antonio, Mia, and Isbella, walked into the mansion. Even Antonio, the sterotypical modern teenage boy, was amazed.

"Now then. I regret to inform you that the storm has wiped out phones to the area. I am afraid you won't be able to call for help until tommorow. But don't fret...if you are not against it, we have plenty of rooms here at the Mansion, and you are more than welcome to spend the night, and then tommorow we'll get someone to fix your car!'

Angela smiled a bit "That'd be wonderful sir."

"Excellent. Follow me!" he said as he lead the family up the staircase in the lobby.

They followed him. Angela kept having to tell Mia not to touch anything.

"It's alright. Curiosity is to be expected. Before we go much furthur, it would serve us all to learn each other's name.

"Nice to meet you all. I am Hugo Prosperio. Now then...if you see a room to your liking, just give a shout" he said as he passed rooms with letters on the door, some sat TG...some said TF, others had no letters at all, or the letters had fallen off.

Angela nodded and looked at the doors' letters. She found it odd, but didn't say anything.
