The gardener then picked up what she could of the boy and dropped him into the bucket.
"How are you feeling?"

"Very strange, but I dunno, it could be worse, I guess." he said. He realized that what he had tasted wasn't fried dough, but funnel cake, so his body had become the batter for that treat.
"I guess it's odd it should wind up this way, becoming a tasty treat."
