I slowly open the door to the room and peer inside. There are rows upon rows of... shoes? It looks like I'm in a shoe store, almost. In fact, they're mostly flip flops of all different styles. Strange, it was labelled the "clown room..."

The shoes were also in a variety of sizes, some normal, some comically large!

Strange, I think. At first I might call to see if anyone is there, but then I decide I've made a wrong turn and I must be lost. I turn around to exit the room.

The door you came from had vanished. Gone! Bye Bye! Kaput!
This of course, was rather odd.

I jump from surprise and take a step backward. The sound of the sole of my foot hitting my flip flop is the only sound that echoes around me. I quietly look around at my surroundings. A few chairs, some mirrors, and endless rows of shoes on shelves. They extend into the darkness where I can't see them anymore. It's quite... odd, the sizes of these open-toed shoes. They span every size from tiny (no more than a few inches long), to normal sizes, to huge, like they were made for giants! I call out into the darkness. "Hello?"

"Hello there." Came a friendly sounding voice. "Welcome to our Shoe Sale!"

"Shoe... sale?" I say to the voice. "I... um, I think I'm in the wrong place, sorry to bother you." I take a small step back, my footstep echoing in the room once again.

"Oh no, anyone who enters this room is meant to come on inside and have some fun. I'd come out to meet you, but I am a bit tied up at the moment...but Welcome!"

"Oh, well... thanks, I guess." I figure I'd throw this lady a bone, at least let her feel like she's almost made a sale before I fake getting a phone call and have to mysteriously leave. I slowly walk over to one of the rows of shoes. A tiny sandal catches my eye. It's only a few inches long, but it would be a great little decoration or paperweight for my friend Sarah's dorm room. I walk over to it.

"What is your name?" the voice asked.

"Me? Um, I'm Melanie," I call out. "I'm sorry, did I come at a bad time?"

"No no, not at all. I just, well don't worry about me." the voice said as if it were coming from the ceiling. "Oh those ones are cute." She said, refering to the shoes you had noticed.

So strange, this place... where is the voice coming from? How come I hadn't heard about this sale, or even this store? I'm always well-versed in the sales around town...
"Oh, these?" I say, playing with the strap. I try to break the tension with a little joke. "I think I might be a few sizes too big for them!" I let out a nervous-sounding laugh. The top of the sole is kind of a reflective gold-colored plastic, and the straps are brown with a tiny rhinestone. "I'm thinking about getting them for my friend. She loves tiny cute things."

"Oh, you should give them a try, I bet you'd look adorable in them!" the voice said.

"Ha, right, lemme just put these on," I say with a smile. Obviously the owner of this shop has a sense of humor. Fortunately, I do too. I set the sandals on the ground and take off my flip flops. The carpet feels good against my smooth, slender feet. I place a toe into the sandal. "Oh man, looks like my foot is just a little too big," I say with a laugh. I barely notice my toe begin to tingle and glow.
