"That's good." Maddy said. "Now, what can you tell me about this council?" Alicia asked. "They do their best to keep magic hidden from the world. Though with some of the stuff going on lately it feels like a matter of time before the world learns about witches and wizards being real."

"Even so, very little magic can be wielded by normys like you." Maddy said. "So you were born with magic? Is your parents the same way?" Alicia asked. "Only my mom, but she caught this rare disease a year back. My dad is a normy and he made me promise not to use my magic here. Was doing fine before you came along."

"Oh....sorry." Alicia said. "Still...that's a pretty rare book. The Witches Companion only prints a single copy every year and they tend to be quite expensive." Maddy said.

"Really? Then how come this one was discarded and no one wrote their name in it?" Alicia asked. "You don't think someone killed them for this...Do you?" She asked Maddy nervously.

"No. True the book becomes nameless after their owner dies but it usually returns to the publisher." Maddy said. "No gain from that."

"Please. Who would let someone borrow this?...Not to mention I'm not sure if it can be borrowed." Maddy said. She was surprised as Alicia offered her the book. "Well then borrow it for a moment and lets see."

"Hmmm..." Maddy said before grabbing the book and was surprised that no barrier appeared. "I see. Borrowing doesn't break the rules since you aren't actually giving it away."
