"Very well." Julie said, getting back to work as Emma waited. Minutes ticked away as customers came and went. Emma kept her focus on the hidden door that led to Minda's office, wondering if she was still on the phone or not.

As a few more customers left Emma began to wonder if 'taking a call' was code for Minda slipping back into old habits. She knew the early days of Minda owning Bookworms involved her sitting in her office reading books and snacking. Not wanting to wait until closing she got up and walked over to Minda's office door.

As she stepped inside Minda hardly noticed her, too focused on her book. "When did you restock the snacks?" Emma asked, startling the brunette as she bit into a brownie.

"That's good, but how did you get in here?" Minda asked. "The door was unlocked. Do you not normally lock it given the bookcase on the other side?" Emma asked. "Or did you only lock it during that Munchie invasion?"
