Walking away from the clock tower the two of them headed through town toward the mall. They kept an eye out for anyone who looked in need of help or sad.

“No. Everyone looks pretty…happy…” Alex said as she looked in one of the shops. She saw Kat with a boy she knew wasn’t her boyfriend. It was actually a boy Alex had a bit of a crush on. “What is she doing with him?” Alex thought, feeling like she had more butterflies in her stomach.

"Maybe they're somehow distant cousins..." She said, peeking back into the store window. She saw the two browsing through some stuff near the back, but couldn't see what it was given they had their backs to her.
