She imagined herself out in a river, reeds around her as she wiggled her ears. "Mommy I'm hungry. How much longer before we eat?" A familiar voice asked as a head rose up from the water.

"Not much longer my little hippo." Gina said.

"Just need to get out of the water and its a short jog to the grazing fields." She smiled, nudging her little hippo forward with her snout.

"Yes, mama." Rose said as she trotted towards the fields.

Following closely Gina kept her head on a swivel. Making their way to the fields they saw no predators. Cheering as she spotted dinner Rose trotted over and began hungrily eating.

"Sorry mommy. I'm just so hungry." Rose said. "It's alright sweetie. Just don't run ahead without me." Gina smiled before starting to eat. Hearing some snorts behind her Gina looked over her shoulder to see two more hippos heading their way.

Rose looked over before smiling. "Aunt Patti!" She said, running over to say hello. "Hey squirt. Did you eat all the good greens again?" Patti teased as she lightly nuzzled her muzzle against the smaller hippo.

"Now, why don't we eat before we start drying out." He said as the four began eating from the greens. "Mommy...Mommy....Mommy!" Gina shook her head as there was a splash in the tub. "Rose? What are you doing?" Gina asked, shaking her head. "You weren't responding so I thought you wouldn't mind if I joined you."

"So mommy, what were you thinking about before? You looked kind of happy." Rose asked as she ate. "The same thing that always makes me happy sweetie. You." Gina smiled as they ate.
