** This is a multiple category story including growth, sw, fmg, sm, and be too. Most of the characters involved were created by joss whedon and I take no credit from them.**
The cloaked being led the way ahead through the darkness. At this moment he still couldn't tell if the being was trustworthy, but desperate times come to desperate measures. It's not as if he would have considered entering another demon's lair if he was able to rid the earth of the slayer all by his self. They rounded a turn and he just about fell strait down a staircase unseen to him in the darkness.
"Oi, if you're going to take me down stairs at least tell me!!!" shouted Spike in an angry tone. Vampires may not die falling down a staircase but the last place he wanted to be was back in a wheelchair.
"Almost there.", Whispered the cloaked demon ahead of him.
"About bloody time I've been walking through these tunnels for the past half hour! How could you demons live down here this deep!?"
At the bottom of the staircase was the destination. The room they entered was barely lit with a magical light the color of eldritch fire. The demons taking residence here filled the room to it's capacity. There was no place to sit or stand, even the piles of human bones were taken up by the crowd. The demons were scaly horned beings Spike had never seen nor heard of. These creatures looked like the cross between a man, a snake, and a bull with greenish brown skin.
The cloaked demon led him through the crowd to the far end of the room. On top of the largest most decomposed pile of human remains was a throne made of what were clearly demon bones. Sitting on the throne was the biggest and ugliest demon in the room. The demon's king looked just as grotesque as the others except his scales were the same color as the eldritch fire. It cluckled as Spike walked closer to him. His sinister eyes made Spike uneasy, but he wasn't about to show any weakness now.
"Okay you've got me here so what's this about 'the power to bring the slayer down' that you supposedly have."
"Now now Spike don't be so hasty, we'll be coming to that in a second. If you'll allow I'd like to show some hospitality as your host; it's not so often that we entertain vampires." The demon's king snaps his claws and Spike could here a human's scream. Within a few seconds the demons part and Spike could see one demon pulling a human female behind him. The female was left at Spike's feet; she looked only halfway conscious only screaming on instinct. "Care for a little snack before we begin our negotiations."
Spike didn't know what to think. It has been a while since he was able to feed without the slayer ruining his meal. In the end his own hunger prevailed. Spike knelt down beside her and sank his fangs into her neck. Her pulse and breathing escalated for a few seconds before she was lulled into a hazy sleep. He drank off her greedily almost choking on her now cooling blood. After she was drained Spike dropped her like a dead weight. He looked absolutely rejuvenated, reborn if it were possible.
"Spike, my name is Xlaxoer King of the Xlaxans. Your people and ours have never had any past quarrels and I would like you to take this into account when you listen to my proposal. Ever since I was spit from the hell mouth three days ago I've been planning the defeat of the slayer. But to complete my plan in any way I need the cooperation of the vampires in the area of which I hear you are the leader."
"There you will be correct, but with so many minions why ask for a few dozen vampires to join ranks?"
"I could summon a million more of them if I should wish but they will do no good. You see it's been quiet a while since our kind has been banished to darker realms; well before the first slayer was ever thought of. The world has changed a hundred times over since we've walked it making it as of poison. I require you to conquer the slayer and find an artifact that will aid us in our efforts to best the environment."
"You need my help yet you don't seem to realize I'm about ready to give up. Everything I put at that bitch gets staked, burned, or beheaded. Unless you've got a way to build an army of vampires without the slayer noticing then there's nothing I can do."
"An army is not necessary." Xlaxoer growled as he produced a cloven claw from his robes. A withered charcoal sack hung from it. "All you need is the contents of the pouch to push the odds in your favor."
Spike took the sack and looked in curiously. The only things in there were a thousand tiny multicolored balls. "You've got to be joking. Defeat a fucking slayer with candy?"
"Those aren't candy; they are the oldest and most sought after magic ever to exist. Their secrets were banished along with me and were reborn alongside me. Do not mock their power for they can rise you above mountains or skin you below my knees."
