greetings everyone who reads this thread.
as you may or may not know there's a bill currently being passed in the USA. This bill (as I've understood it) have a potential to ruin the entire Internet, simply censor whatever they see as "pirating" they can also simply remove it without any warning, and pretend like it have never existed. proboards could be a potential target? so could youtube, google and pretty many other things could be taken down because of this bill? what are you thoughts on this? thanks for reading this.
sincerely Hollois434
ps. sorry for my bad english

Attack of the Show on G4 discussed this issue last night in The Loop. SOPA and PIPA were described as being like sledge hammers while a 3rd bill was compared to a scalpel. I agree that these bills shouldn't be passed. They could be more harmful than the piracy problem they are trying to prevent. Such bills were made without the aid of those that have some tech knowledge.

I debated bringing this up here myself, so it's nice to see people talking about it. We here at the mansion love having the internet with which to bring guests into our world. This bill challenges that in a big way, and we support any and all moves to stop it. If you live in the US, contact your local representatives and tell them how you feel. We already have, and every little bit helps.
I didn't consider blacking out the site because our site being blacked out would accomplish little, unlike Wikipedia and google.

Yeah, blacking out the mansion would have just been bad for those that enjoy it. From the email I got after clicking the option on the main page, Senator websites were blacked out after the flood of angry voters showed up at once. As far as I see it, the house and the senate need to bring in people who can better understand the technical part of these bills and have them explain it to them clearly so they can make something better than SOPA & PIPA.
