"This is the place." Skylar said to her friend Robyn. Robyn was a shorter skinny girl with long blond locks tinged with a faded blue hairdye she had put in while she was on vacation from her job that was fairly strict about hair color. Skylar was taller, but also on the skinny side with long brown hair that touched her shoulders. She too was on vacation from her nursing job. The place she was referring to was an old mansion looming above them, Unlike some visitors to this manor, this was no accident, but a planned a trip to this mansion together based on the suggestions of a club they had joined called The Mayhem Society.
The Mayhem Society was a strange little group, found across the country, that considered them the ultimate thrillseekers, looking for dangerous and life-changing situations. They often forced new members to go to strange places to take part in them, and after one of their chapters simply vanished, a strange fascination with one location was passed on to these new members.
"I don't know why every chapter loves this place. It's just a creepy old house. I mean every street in the world has one of those." Robyn said.
"Yes, but we are supposed to seek out...a colorful door once inside. I don't know what that means, but it's what the paper says. We found the house, now it's time to get inside and find that door."
Getting inside proved easy. A cute young girl in a maids outfit opened the door, and spoke in a kind french accent, offering them the chance to come in. She noted that the master was out for the afternoon, but they were free to explore and make themselves comfortable.
"That was simple," Skylar said.
"Almost too," Robyn replied.
"Never look a gift horse in the mouth." Skylar replied as the two of them headed up the grand staircase and began to roam the halls. Soon enough the found it. The door.
It was a shade of white with a red spiral and yellow polka dots. It was the only door that resembled anything other than an old wooden door in the place. "This has gotta be it." Skylar pointed out.
"Only one way to find out." Robyn said as she opened it and the door creaked open and the two of them felt a strong rush of wind and they were being pulled inside.
"What the hellllllllll" Robyn said as she disappeared in the doorway.
Skylar flew in after, but couldn't see her friend.
"ROBYN!" she cried.
Then suddenly she hit the floor. And the room had gone quiet.
"What the hell?"
