A friend of mine sat down with me and chatted about me and my mansion's story. Some of the information can be found here, but I figured I'd share his writings with you. You may learn something new about me, my family, and my mansion.

The Mansion has been around for many years. It’s location changes all the time, depending on where it is needed the most. The Mansion was built by Jonathan Prosperio Sr, along with his wife Martha. Together they imbued the Mansion with magical powers that were heavily based on Jonathan’s days as a stage magician using transformation themed magic to delight audiences the world over. In 1858, they welcomed a son, Hugo, named after Jonathan’s grandfather. Hugo took a shine to the magic his father used at a young age, and was clearly a chip of the old block, as the parlance goes. The Prosperios had two other children, with Jonathan Jr. in 1861 and Molli in 1868.
In 1893, Jonathan Sr. passed away due to a combination of old age and a magical virus that weakens one’s magic powers. His ghost remained, but is rarely seen by anyone but his wife. They share tea together most days.
After his Father’s death, Hugo took over the running of the Mansion (along with his siblings) and manages it to this day. He has honed his transformational magical skills and has made the mansion a place where people can rediscover themselves in new and exiting ways.
In 1919, he met a young 19 year old girl named Anna Hastings. The two fell madly in love, and bonded over their differences. She was amazed by his powers and swore to never tell anyone what he and his family were. He eventually asked her to marry him, much to his mother’s dismay (she had wanted him to wed a witch) and much to her parents joy (They though Hugo the handsome son of rich dignitaries)
His mother’s objection to it made him question his relationship and he decided to gift Anna with magical powers. He prepared the elixer to specifications, but a witch who had wanted to wed Hugo for his money and power tampered with the ingredients. She thought by making the potion fail, Hugo would fall for her instead. The potion didn’t simply fail, but became a poison that claimed the life of Anna in 1923.
Prosperios often hide their old age, but after her death, Hugo’s heart was broken, so he let his old age show. In 2008, the witch who killed Anna returned to the Mansion and wreaked havoc on the mansion’s Maze and the guests roaming it. As she cornered all of the Mansion’s guests and the Prosperios, a young maid working for the Mansion revealed herself to be Anna re-incarnated. With the help of a mansion guest who had the fortune to become a dragon, they disarmed Anzana and destroyed her (although bits of her spirit still haunt areas of the Maze) Having returned, Anna and Hugo finalized their marriage, and now with magical powers, Anna has been on a world tour, learning how to use her magical skills. She checks in often and Hugo and her often pop to Paris for lunch.
In the 90’s, Molli met a man named Ian Anderson through her brother. Ian designs video games and had met with Jonathan who was interested in taking transformation magical technology and incorporating it into video games. They married soon after and in 2003, Molli gave birth to a daughter, Cindy. Cindy grew up to be quite the trouble-maker, but in recent years, she has done her best to help her mother and uncles with the guests. Ian was granted a slower aging process by Molli, but does not share magical powers with her or their daughter. Cindy’s magic was so strong that at the age of three, she gave her pet cat the ability to speak and think. Although the cat, named Giovanni, had no magical powers, he became quite adept at brewing potions. In a response to the cat, Molli gave a mouse the same gifts. He surpassed Giovanni in Potion Making and can often be seen with his best friend Dave in the Maze.
In 2009 a mysterious figure began to lurk in the mansions, finding it wherever it managed to pop up. At first he simply observed the goings on in the mansion, but soon, he was revealed to be a man named Bob who found himself involved in the many mis-adventures of the Mansion. He often brings two brave girls named Jess and Midna with him, although they have a habit of disappearing into strange doors and not returning for days. Together this trio have sort of warmed their way into Hugo’s heart. He is skeptical of Bob and often teases him when he gets into transformative tough spots, but they work together often. Hugo has even granted him his own room in the Mansion to use whenever he is in.
Most of the rooms in the Mansion are standard transformational themed rooms, but one in particular is a strange place indeed. When Jonathan Sr. was alive, a friend of his named Laufeyson (he apparently liked to be called Mr. Low Key) gave Jonathan a gift of a small box. Jonathan knew it to be a prank and had it put into a room for storage, but years later, one curious visitor opened it, and unleashed a magical force of mirth and merriment. Clowns found their way into the mansion. First it was a clown named Dora, but then came Jewel who now runs the clown room for the most part. She keeps tabs with the world where the box came from known as Clowntopia.
Clowntopia itself has a connection to the Mansion, as the guardian of the portal between our dimension and theirs is a friend of Hugo’s. Hugo was not fond of the clown invasion, but managed to contain it into the one room, but when he found out about Clowntopia, he sought out Chuckles and made connections. Hugo doesn’t care for the clown magic, but he allows it, as long as it stays contained…but it seems Jewel has bigger ideas, although she bows to his whims most of the time.
The Mansion is ever growing, and many guests find themselves staying for longer and longer periods of time. The Mansion is constantly an adventure, and For Hugo and his family, it’s an adventure he loves.
