Placing it in the oven she closed it up and set the timer. As her stomach grumbled again she looked back at the bit of leftover dough.

"I promised mommy. No matter how yummy it is I shouldn't eat it." Dana said, her stomach grumbling in objection. Looking around Dana soon spotted a trashcan.

"When there are leftover dough, toss in the trash." she said gathering the leftover dough.

"Sorry you didn't get to be a cookie." Dana sighed, tossing the dough in the trash.

Walking over to the stool Dana waited patiently, getting a little hungrier as the timer ticked away. Soon the timer was ringing. Getting an oven mitt Dana hurried to get the cookies out of the oven.

She carefully got them out. "Yay! Cookie time!" she said.

Not seeing any frosting she set the cookie sheet down and let the cookies cool off a bit. Carefully picking one up she decided to try a bite.

Taking a few more bites she reached for another cookie, her tummy happy to finally get something to eat. "Yummy. I bet these would taste great with frosting." Dana smiled, biting into a Santa shaped cookie then alternating to an elf shaped cookie.

"Ah." Dana said lying on the floor rubbing her little tummy.

"Christmas cookies are the best." She said, letting out a small burp. Despite her little snack she still felt a little hungry.

"Still hungry. Wonder if the real cookies are done baking yet." Dana said getting up.

As she went to leave something sweet caught her nose. Turning around she found the cookie sheet had some gingerbread figures on it, as well as the previous message having changed. "A kept promise is a rewarding thing." it read as Dana looked at the cookies. There was a gingerbread man, woman, and 5 gingerbread kids.
