"Since when are you so talented a cook?" Shawn asked. "I've only ever seen you help your mother with cookies a couple times." He said as Jessie mixed ingredients like she'd done it for years.

Jessie glanced over her shoulder as Shawn lumbered out of the kitchen. Hurrying to his mother's room he threw open the door.

The curtains were still closed, but it looked like his mother had gotten out of bed. "Mom?" He called out, looking around worriedly.

He then jumped when he heard the door close behind him. Turning around he couldn't see much in the dark room. "Mom it's okay. It's just me. It's Shawn." He said, feeling something move past his feet.

Flicking it on he saw what looked to be a small creature. It cried out in pain, shielding itself from the light with its arms. "Sorry mom." Shawn said, quickly turning off the light.

"Okay...I'll just...leave you be." Shawn said as he quickly shut the door. "What the heck happened to her?" he muttered. "Well, got off the phone with Missy. Apparently these changes have happened all over town." Jess said.
