"Its fine. I left most of my books in the wagon." she said giving Cam her money. "These are my only personals."

Nodding Cam put the money in her satchel. As they walked through the crowded marketplace Beth was surprised by some of the stuff they sold. She knew some of the stuff being sold for ludicrous amounts of gold were hard to come by, even at their base. "Wonder if that witch bought and sold here..." Beth muttered before Cam was twisting a guy's arms. "I appreciate the gentle feel mate, but I'm not so wet behind the ears. Try again and my friend here will put a curse on you." Cam said to him. It startled Beth because it sounded like a serious threat, but was said in such a playful way it kind of turned her on.

"Let's just get what we...hmm...a book stall. This could be where it was sold." Beth said.

As Cam released the low rank thief Beth walked over to the book stall. "Need help finding anything?" A balding man asked as Beth looked over the books.

"I was looking for a certain book...From the Darkest Pits of Hell?" she asked startling him.

"And what would a dark elf like you be wanting with a book like that?" He asked, his hands hidden within his robes.

"If you plan to stab me or fire some magic, I would think twice." Beth said.

"I would think you should think twice. Asking about a book that by all accounts has been reported to be under lock and key upstairs in..." He said before finding a dagger to his throat. "You'll have to excuse my friend. She's impatient and a bit too direct sometimes." Cam said, surprising both Beth and the guy with how quiet she was. "Now I doubt you'd risk selling such a thing even here...So why not tell us what you know besides what the common people know...And if you lie or try anything I'll have to ruin my friend's dress with your blood."

"Grr...the book is exactly what you have heard. An evil thing filled with rituals and dark magic spells. All require one thing in common...blood." he said.

"Uh huh...And regarding it having gone missing from the pompous scholars upstairs?" Cam whispered, moving the dagger closer.

"I never got it. The book you see...it went missing 15 years ago." he said.

"15 years? They never mentioned that..." Beth said in surprise. "Any thieves with the balls at that time to try stealing it?" Cam asked. "Five at the time...One has since died and two others are currently locked up in one of the toughest prisons in the land." He said. "Feel free to write that down for us, along with the names of the two not yet caught." Cam said. "I won't give you so much as a..." He said before Cam dropped Beth's money into his hands.

The man quickly grabbed a quill and paper. "Memorize it and burn it. These men will kill me if they find out I talked." He said, handing Cam the paper as she put her dagger away. "Don't report this misunderstanding and we have a deal." Cam said.

They were soon leaving. "Can't believe you offered my money." Beth said.
